NYPD’s most jaded cop is taunted by a razor-slashing maniac who carves his way through sexually active young women whilst making deranged Donald Duck voice imitation…

Almost Human

Maestro of mayhem Umberto Lenzi (CANNIBAL FEROX, OASIS OF FEAR) takes you on a tour of Italy’s mean streets in this hyper-violent, white-knuckle 1970s crime classic. For the first time ever on Blu-ray, Shameless proudly presents Almost Human…restored, uncut and unhinged! Tomas Milian stars as Giulio Sacchi, a sadistic petty crook who aspires to criminal greatness. With his gang of impressionable weirdos in tow, Sacchi kidnaps the pretty young daughter of a wealthy businessman but hardboiled cop Grandi (the one-and-only Henry Silva – ESCAPE FROM THE BRONX) is in hot pursuit. The dogged detective is all that stands between Sacchi’s gang and the ransom money, and he’s the only hope their teenage hostage has got… Almost Human is a notoriously nasty crime thriller, a cult serving for cognoscenti, with a stand-out score from Ennio Morricone, presented for the first time ever in glorious HD and restored from original vault materials. If you like your cops proper badass, and your villains ever badder psychos, this is the one high-octane, edge-of-the-seat experience you cannot miss!

Baba Yaga

Director Corrado Farina re-edited his film as an exclusive 1st for Shameless in order to show his vision of his film as he intended it to be before his producers hacked it to bits behind his back the day before the film opened in cinemas. Director Corrado Farina re-inserted the footage cut by the producers and took that opportunity to also reinsert prior censors cut. This is Director Corrado Farina’s avowed “own BABA YAGA”, which he had re-edited for Shameless, now this extended “redux” version is presented for the 1st time on blu-ray, finally doing justice to the filmmaker’s unique original vision. Perverted dreams and fevered reality are blurred when beautiful witch Baba Yaga (Carroll Baker) gets her sapphic claws into a beautiful young photographer in this rampant adaptation of the classic Guido Crepax comic-book.

The Beyond

One of the most iconic and seminal Horror cum-slasher film to come out of Italy. THE BEYOND is by fan-favourite director Lucio Fulci. Always at the top of imdb rating, it is acknowledged as Fulci’s most famous and important  film. When jaded New Yorker (Catriona MacColl) inherits a New Orleans hotel, she calls on unflappable local doctor (David Warbeck) to contain the inexplicable, and increasingly gory surreal accidents that are plaguing the old building and its grounds. But soon the ‘Gates of Hell’ themselves open under the hotel, rendering their fight futile and their flight impossible as the Living Dead emerge to walk the earth. Presented for first-time ever from source materials restored in 2K, this Shameless Blu-ray edition is a unique world-first as it presents 4 different prologue versions of the iconic film-opening, which seamlessly branch into the rest of the film without interruption, thereby enabling the viewer to select a different version of the film-opening:

  • Interviews with Cinzia Monreale, Michele Mirabella, and Giorgio Mariuzzo
  • The Beyond prologue four-way comparison
  • Sergio Salvati audio commentary
  • Catriona McCall and David Warbeck audio commentary

Cannibal Ferox

A decade on from starting the cannibal genre, director Umberto Lenzi has the final word, pushing the vomit envelope beyond the sick with his utterly nasty, nihilistic apotheosis that is CANNIBAL FEROX. So unredeemable that its own makers denounced it as barbaric..! An academic, Gloria (Lorraine De Selle), journeys to the Amazon jungle where things go awry when her party encounters sadistic druggy villain Mike (Giovanni Lombardo Radice aka John Morghen), as the travellers venture further into the heart of darkness, they soon discover what it means to be the hunted prey. CANNIBAL FEROX aka ‘Make Them Die Slowly’, topped the official Video Nasty list for its raw graphic scenes of torture, mutilations, murder and cannibalism. This new 2K restoration additionally features new grading which revives, for the 1st time, the original edgy look of the 16mm film stock it was shot on – finally presenting the film as it was first created by director Umberto Lenzi, on location in the Amazonian green inferno.

Flavia the Heretic

Director Gianfranco Mingozzi brings us FLAVIA THE HERETIC, one of the most graphically violent of all ‘nunsploitation’ films ever. It is so uncompromising and harsh that it courts the ranks of video nasties! It is also, however, an undeniably potent and thought-provoking film, that reflects on religiously condoned violence as well as misogyny.  Set in the middle ages, FLAVIA THE HERETIC tells the story of Flavia whose tyrannical father forces her to become a nun. After the visit of the strange sexual Tarantula cult, to the nunnery, everything changes for Flavia. As an act of rebellion, she joins forces with an army of invading Muslims and becomes a heretic. Along with them, she aims to destroy the convent and kill everyone who wronged her. Based on true events from Medieval Italy; this is an incredible story filled with murder, rape, torture and worse. Nun, Warrior and Avenger, Flavia’s will is unshakeable even when she’s eventually caught and tortured, she will stop at nothing.
Beautifully filmed by Alfio Contini (The Night Porter) with flashes of  ‘Jodorowsky-esque’ surrealism and boasting a score by Oscar®-winning Nicola Piovani (Life is Beautiful) FLAVIA THE HERETIC is without a doubt a rare and captivating gem. Released for the first time in HD on Blu-ray, uncut, finally doing justice to the searing vision of its filmmakers.

Four Flies on Grey Velvet

The rarest of Dario Argento’s giallo thrillers, released in its original glory from restored vault materials, finally comes to Blu-ray. Who is the deranged maniac persecuting and mentally torturing celebrated rock musician Roberto Tobias (Michael Brandon)? First he’s implicated in a horrifying stabbing and is soon surrounded by other senseless slaughter. The last strange image captured on one murder victim’s eye retina contains the only clue to the demented criminal manipulator. And their identity will take Roberto over the edge of sanity to a shock horror peak in Dario Argento’s classic giallo chiller.
This homicidal frenzy completed Argento’s revered ‘Animal’ trilogy (alongside THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE and CAT O’ NINE TAILS) that dubbed him ‘The Italian Hitchcock’, leading to SUSPIRIA and his worldwide ‘Master of Horror’ reputation. And Argento’s unmistakable flair for creating fear in lavish style is on stunning show in this slick, sick primal scream – with a shattering slow-motion climax given further operatic violence by one of genius Ennio Morricone’s most memorable scores.

The Mountain of the Cannibal God

You might just never come home… Ursula Andress (Bond Dr No, 10th Victim, The Nurse) travels to the New Guinea jungle in search of her scientist husband who’s vanished in the untamed Green Inferno. Soon giant spiders, killer crocs and deadly snakes bare their teeth as her expedition, lead by cult-fave Stacey Keach, journeys towards the sacred mountain of the Cannibal God! There a flesh-eating demon will enslave her in an eruption of frenzied orgiastic climax… and porky bestiality! The Nurse

From the producers of ‘Doctor Zhivago’ comes a film that finally reveals URSULA ANDRESS in all her glory! Voted the TOP BOND GIRL of all time, Ursula Andress made cinematic history when she emerged from the sea in that bikini. Not only was this iconic scene crowned “No1 of the 100 Greatest Sexy Screen-Moments” and earned Andress a Golden Globe, but it heralded a new generation of women who wanted and expected more: the ‘sexual revolution’ had started. Andress stars as The Sensuous Nurse, spending most of this romp-com undressed. Screen legend Jack Palance (City Slickers) plays an American tycoon aiming to buy a vineyard in the beautiful Italian Veneto. But the hitch is that the aging owner won’t sign, despite his madcap family’s eagerness to sell and get rich. The old man, recovering from a bonk-induced heart attack, is a randy lecher. So, the family’s outrageous stratagem is to hire Nurse Andress, not to cure the old boy, but for her to… ahem… undress and, hopefully, induce another – this time fatal – cardiac arrest. It’s all barmy, fizzy fun, and the clincher? A SECOND Bond Girl! Luciana Paluzzi, the one in skin-tight black leathers on the rocket-launching motorbike in ‘Thunderball’. Here without leathers. Or anything.

The Psychic

Director Lucio Fulci is revered by Quentin Tarantino who planned to remake THE PSYCHIC and also used its music in ‘Kill Bill’. Unusually for Fulci, this film is mostly without his otherwise characteristic ultra-gore… In this captivating suspenseful whodunit with a final twist, beautiful Jennifer O’Neill, fresh from Luchino Visconti’s ‘The Innocent’, plays Virginia a woman who has psychic powers. Now newly married and well-off, Virginia becomes plagued by waking visions of bloody deaths and meaningless torment. With the aid of her parapsychologist friend (Marc Porel ‘The Innocent’, ‘Live like a Cop, Die like a Man’), who carries a torch for her, they try to discover the meaning of these horrific visions only to slowly discover that these are premonitions of future deaths… Get ready for a Hitchcockian whodunit like no other. From the visionary Lucio Fulci, enter the disjointed universe of ‘The Psychic’ where reality and dreams, the dead and the living, the past and present are all interconnected.

The Sect

Satanic sacrifice, face-ripping gore and a channel-hopping bunny! Directed by Michele Soavi (THE CHURCH, CEMETERY MAN) and co-scripted and produced by Dario Argento: We know their names, let’s experience the nature of their games!
Watch with glee while schoolteacher (Kelly Curtis) becomes the target of a devil-worshipping sect… Soon her friends either disappear, become crazed zombie-like murderers or… get their heart ripped out. Still beating. Some even jerk back to life in an undead bloodletting frenzy! Is Jamie-Lee Curtis’ pretty sister loosing her mind or has the devil come into her? Shameless is pleased to introduce the first ever 2K HD restored and longest ever version of THE SECT, entirely faithful to Soavi’s original vision of occult and zoogenic mayhem. Adding 666 degrees of terror to a Rosemary’s Baby scenario, Soavi blowtorches a diabolic opus that will get you to claw your own face off with fear!

  • An exclusive interview with Michele Soavi
  • 2K pristine restored and remastered

Considered by critics a pinnacle of slasher movies, STAGEFRIGHT is now finally given the release it deserves, from a new 4K restoration, for us to marvel at the inventive genius of director  Michele Soavi (Cemetery Man, The Sect, The Church) combining relentless graphic blood-splattered set pieces with his trademark witty filmmaking elegance – a quality not normally associated with slasher movies!
Soavi intended his film to be called Aquarius – or aquarium – alluding to the viewer being able to see the action as if it took place inside a fishbowl. Cleverly constructed to heighten suspense, the director intentionally mixes fake with reality: showing us the ‘real’ serial killer of our film as he infiltrates a group of stage actors rehearsing overnight in an isolated place; he kills and takes the place of the actor whose role in the play is that of a killer permanently hidden under a giant owl head! His identity unseen, the now real killer-owl stalks and dismembers the troupe one by one!
Schooled by Dario Argento and Terry Gilliam but with his own unique personal flair, Soavi’s first feature can finally be seen as intended, with this edition further benefitting from the director’s colour grading and framing indications given during a candid conversation filmed exclusively for one of the many Extras on this Special Edition disc.
