Rammstein – Sehnsucht – Anniversary Edition

release date: 9th june 2023

The iconic 1997 Rammstein album “Sehnsucht” is re-released as a limited Anniversary Edition, for the first time in remastered HD sound. In addition to the singles “Du hast” and “Engel”, the album exclusively includes a new mix version of the track “Spiel mit mir”. The elaborately reworked packaging was designed by the original artwork designer Dirk Rudolph
The black 2LP comes in a triple gatefold with a 40-page booklet and an embossed silver foil slipcase. The 40-page booklet features numerous unpublished and re-edited portrait photographs by artist Gottfried Helnwein.

Alice Copper – School’s Out – 50th Anniversary Edtion

release date: 9th june 2023

The reissue of Alice Copper’s 1972’s School’s Out, featuring new liner notes from Bill Holdship.  The packaging will feature a pop-up school desk and panties – just like the original (but these ones are non-flammable). The second is a deluxe reissue of 1971’s Killer, with a recreation of the original 1972 calendar that was included upon its release, along with new liner notes from Bill Holdship.
Alice Cooper was unstoppable during the 1970s when the band released four consecutive platinum albums and five Top 40 hits like “I’m Eighteen,” “School’s Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” and “Elected.” Rhino will reissue two of those platinum albums – Killer (1971) and School’s Out (1972) – with newly remastered sound, rare recordings, and previously unreleased live performances.

Fela Kuti – Gentleman – 50th Anniversary Edtion

release date: 23rd june 2023

1973’s Gentleman is the 7th in the series of celebratory Fela 50th Anniversary reissues. Like its predecessors in the series, this version will be available on exclusive colored vinyl (Igbo Smoke) and the LP will be wrapped in a gold foil obi strip with a brief essay on the album and Fela’s global impact on music. Like Fela’s other early 70’s releases, he used each side of his LPs to create a deep groove that pulls the listener in and follows with metaphoric lyrics that call out and critique the corrupt hangover of colonialism.

Fairport Convention – Unhalfbricking

release date: 20th june 2023

Unhalfbricking was recorded between January and April 1969 and shows the band gaining confidence. Ian Matthews left the group during the recordings, and they decided not to replace him. The material is strong, and their covers of three Bob Dylan songs (including material from the then-bootleg ‘The Basement Tapes’) yielded a Top 30 UK hit single, ‘Si Ti Dois Partir’ – a cover of ‘If You Gotta Go, Go Now’, sung in French. Sandy Denny contributes her keynote song ‘Who Knows Where The Time Goes’, and most remarkable of all is ‘A Sailor’s Life’, a traditional folk song arranged by Simon Nicol and Richard Thompson. The ballad builds over 11 minutes into a full-on wig-out with a guest performance by Dave Swarbrick on fiddle.

Tom Waits – Closing Time

release date: 2nd june 2023

‘Closing Time’ foreshadows the distinctly lyrical storytelling and original blending of jazz, blues, and folk styles that would come to be associated with Waits. It is on this debut album that Waits performs enduring classics of his career ‘Ol’ 55′ (famously covered by the Eagles), the heartbreaking ‘Martha’ and the gentle acoustic folk of ‘I Hope That I Don’t Fall In Love With You’. Reissued for the first time as a double LP to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the landmark debut with newly half speed mastering at Abbey Road Studios.

Alice Copper – Killer – 50th Anniversary Edtion

release date: 9th june 2023

We’ve got two spectacular deluxe editions from Alice Cooper.  One is a reissue of 1972’s School’s Out, featuring new liner notes from Bill Holdship.  The packaging will feature a pop-up school desk and panties – just like the original (but these ones are non-flammable). The second is a deluxe reissue of 1971’s Killer, with a recreation of the original 1972 calendar that was included upon its release, along with new liner notes from Bill Holdship.

release date: 23rd june 2023

In her first recording for Verve, Blossom Dearie showcases her sense of swing and her first-class piano playing on this self-titled 1957 gem. Dearie surveys the Great American Songbook on standouts like ”Deed I Do’ and ‘Thou Swell’, as well as three songs sung in French!

The Wedding Present – Watusi

release date: 2nd june 2023

For many, The Wedding Present are the very epitome of indie. Formed in 1985, the group rose to prominence as part of the so-called C86 scene (a free NME cassette that showcased new bands of the era), with their fast-paced jangle-pop and intelligent lyrics by founder and only band constant David Gedge. The group built on the critical and commercial success of their debut album, ‘George Best’, and, in 1992, made headlines with their cunning ruse of issuing a single a month, all of which made the UK Top 40. Signing to Island Records, the group – at this point Gedge, guitarist Paul Dorrington, bassist Darren Belk and drummer Simon Smith – went to Seattle to record with producer/engineer Steve Fisk, known then for his work with the fabled Sub-Pop label. As a result, ‘Watusi’ is both razor sharp and slyly commercial, as typified by its singles ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah’ and ‘It’s a Gas’.

Mccoy Tyner – Time for Tyner

release date: 2nd june 2023

On his third Blue Note album, pianist McCoy Tyner assembled a quartet with vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, bassist Herbie Lewis & drummer Freddie Waits for an album rich in ethereal textures that delivers visceral performances of three expansive Tyner originals and three radically reinvented standards.
