released in may 1975, captain fantastic and the brown dirt cowboy is the ninth studio album by elton john, featuring the single someone saved my life tonight. the album tells the chronological story of the early years of elton (captain fantastic) and bernie (the brown dirt cowboy) as they struggled to break through in london’s music scene. the 50th anniversary edition 2cd set includes the original album, previously unreleased session demos, and captain fantastic live 2005 performances with three bonus tracks exclusive to this format, and features a 24-page booklet with newly compiled scrapbook and sleeve notes. while the vinyl edition includes a 28-page booklet with scrapbook, sleeve notes, and elton’s never-before-seen 1974 diary entries.

pulp – different class 30

different class (originally released october 30, 1995) is pulp’s most successful album, achieving multi-platinum sales, international acclaim, winning the 1996 mercury music prize, and debuting at #1 on the uk album chart. it produced four top ten singles, including common people, and four months before the album’s release, the band headlined the pyramid stage at glastonbury festival on saturday 24 june. to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this iconic record, the legendary glastonbury performance, fully restored and released here for the first time, has been paired with the remastered album. the vinyl edition spans 2 lps presented in a deluxe 4lp boxset with a recreated original ‘aperture’ sleeve design, six double-sided inserts/art cards, and a 12-inch by 12-inch poster featuring miniatures of the cardboard cutouts. the 2cd edition features the same remastered audio, housed in a digi-sleeve, with the glastonbury set included. all audio has been remastered/mastered by geoff pesche at abbey road, overseen by jarvis cocker and mark webber.

the eighth studio album by the english rock band, originally released in august 1978, was the who’s last album to feature keith moon as their drummer, who died three weeks after its release. the ironic text not to be taken away, stencilled on moon’s chair on the cover, was noted by critics. the 7cd + blu-ray edition includes a 100-page hardback book with extensive sleeve notes by matt kent covering the period before and after the album, track-by-track details, and session notes, as well as sleeve notes by steven wilson on his dolby atmos remixes. the limited-edition deluxe vinyl box set features a four-lp set on 180-gram vinyl, including the newly remastered original album and live recordings from the 1979 us tour, with one lp in a single sleeve and three lps in a triple gatefold sleeve, accompanied by a 28-page softcover book. also available are a single-lp half-speed master vinyl edition and a 2cd edition.
