wheels of fire is the third studio album by british rock trio cream, originally released in 1968. recorded between 1967 and 1968, it marked a shift away from the rapid-fire sessions of disraeli gears, instead unfolding over several months in short bursts at ibc studios in london under the production of felix pappalardi. issued as a landmark double album, it combines studio recordings, including the key singles white room and crossroads, with a live set captured across six performances at san francisco’s fillmore auditorium by pappalardi and engineer bill halverson, cementing the band’s reputation for both studio invention and explosive live power.
