june 2026

this month’s album picks:

olivia rodrigo – You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love

release: 12th june 2026
available on alternate album art ‘Pretty Sad’ Vinyl + Poster / alternate album art + Poster / vinyl / cd

olivia rodrigo’s third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, finds her navigating her first “big girl relationship” with a sharper, more self-aware lens. across 13 tracks, she blends experimental pop textures with emotionally direct songwriting, where devotion and unease sit side by side. jealousy, longing and attachment surface throughout, often undercut by a quiet melancholy she admits has always shadowed her love songs. produced with dan nigro, the record’s centrepiece the cure frames its core idea: love doesn’t fix you, it only reveals what’s already there.

beth orton – the ground above

release: 26th june 2026
available on fopp exclusive signed cd / vinyl / cd
for more than 30 years, beth orton has acted as a kind of cosmic receiver, translating vast, unseen emotional weather into intimate, human scale song. with the ground above, she delivers her most immediate and unguarded work to date: urgent, embodied and emotionally exposed, shifting between instinctive, subconscious flow and finely shaped songwriting. her voice moves from hushed invocation to raw, full-bodied release, carrying melodies that still nod to classic songbook tradition. across the record she traces survival and renewal, motherhood and identity, political tension, and the persistent decision to remain—within love, within art, within the world.

modest mouse – an eraser and a amze

release: 5th june 2026
available on sky blue double vinyl / ocean floor coloured double vinyl / cosmic black double vinyl / cd

modest mouse construct a sonic world where fractured intensity and unexpected beauty sit side by side, cementing their status as one of the most distinctive forces in indie rock over the past three decades. an eraser and a maze is their first studio album since the golden casket, and it revisits the raw, unsettled energy of their earliest work, threading wiry, interlocking guitar lines through driving, militaristic percussion that feels both urgent and unstable, like a system constantly on the verge of collapse.

vince staples – cry baby

release: 26th june 2026
available on red coloured vinyl  / opaque hot pink vinyl / cd

Vince Staples is one of the most revered voices of his generation. Though he’s a celebrated multi-hyphenate, making an impact in TV, film, & contemporary culture, music is where he most naturally pushes boundaries as an artist, storyteller, & creative force.  Following a string of acclaimed introspective projects, Ramona Park (a melancholic tribute to his hometown) & Dark Times (deeper, more personal themes), Cry Baby is a more outwardly facing artistic statement and piece of social commentary.

graham coxon – castle park

release: 19th june 2026
available on vinyl / cd

produced by ben hillier (blur – think tank), castle park was recorded in 2011 during the a+e sessions, originally intended as a follow-up before being delayed by subsequent blur activity and other projects. the album collects ten tracks that lean into graham coxon’s classic mod-leaning sensibility, balancing sharp songwriting with a more direct, band-driven energy. its lead single billy says, long a fixture in coxon’s live sets, finally appears in studio form, arriving as a familiar piece of his catalogue now fully realised on record.
