hard boiled

release: 30th march 2026
available on 4k uhd

In the 80s and 90s, director John Woo would cement his reputation as a master of action films with classics like A Better Tomorrow, The Killer and Bullet in the Head. This would culminate in 1992 with the release of his masterpiece Hard Boiled, the hyperkinetic, hyperviolent exemplar of the Heroic Bloodshed genre.
Iconic actor Chow Yun-Fat (City on Fire) stars as Tequila, a gung-ho cop working to bring down Johnny Wong (Anthony Wong, Infernal Affairs), the villainous triad boss who maintains a stranglehold on Hong Kong’s illegal gun trade. Johnny attempts to recruit Ah-Long (Tony Leung, Bullet in the Head), an assassin from a rival syndicate, just as the insubordinate Tequila gets taken off the case. Taking justice into his own hands, Tequila tracks Ah-Long down and uncovers an intricate web of deception that threatens to boil over into all-out war.
A fiery coalescence of electrifying performances, elaborate narrative and operatic gunfights, Hard Boiled has rightly been exalted as the undisputed champion of Hong Kong action films, ready to unleash a hail of bullets anew in this stunning restoration exploding with extras.

Author Ben Mears (David Soul) returns to the town of Salem’s Lot after 25 years to write about the Marsten House, an old mansion with a bad reputation that has haunted the writer since childhood. But the sleepy town of Ben’s youth is beginning to change. There’s an antiques store about to open, run by the mysterious Richard Straker (James Mason) and his unseen partner Mr. Barlow (Reggie Nalder), and they’re living in the Marsten House. A series of deaths and disappearances leads Ben to believe that a vampire is feeding on the town. But how can he stop them, and will anyone believe him?
With a script by Paul Monash (producer of De Palma’s Carrie, writer of Peyton Place and The Friends of Eddie Coyle) and a superb cast that includes Bonnie Bedelia (Die Hard), Fred Willard (Best in Show), Geoffrey Lewis (Every Which Way But Loose) and Elisha Cook Jr. (The Killing), Tobe Hooper breathes vivid life and chilling un-death into the characters of King’s novel. negatives

release: 16th march 2026
available on blu-ray

Living above a dusty old antiques shop, deeply enmeshed in archaic Edwardiana and wrapped up in moth-eaten old clothes, two passionate but embittered lovers play out their lives in performative acts of sexual fantasy – with shop-owner Theo (Peter McEnery) as notorious killer Crippen and his partner Vivien (Glenda Jackson, Women in Love) disguising herself as both the wife and the lover of the meek but murderous doctor. Tensions between the two escalate still further when uninhibited German photographer Reingard (Diane Cilento, The Wicker Man) moves in with them, bringing bizarre fantasies of her own.
Director Peter Medak (The Ruling Class, The Krays), made his provocative debut with this ostentatious first feature, a dreamlike acutely-cinematic character study which penetrates the dark heart of unconventional relationships in the free love era – a no-holds-barred arena in which games lovers play can have unimaginably complex and destructive consequences.

the man who wasn’t there

release: 2nd march 2026
available on 4k uhd

The Coen brothers peer into the existential abyss of the atomic age in this coolly riveting, drolly profound noir thriller. In a performance of masterfully calibrated understatement, Billy Bob Thornton stars as a disaffected barber in 1940s California whose suspicion that his wife (Frances McDormand) is cheating on him leads him down a crooked path of blackmail and murder. Fusing the expressionistic black and white and hard-boiled poetry of classic noir with their own idiosyncratic feeling for sinister, surreal Americana, Joel and Ethan Coen craft an arresting vision of the cruelty of fate and the mystery of our place in the cosmos.

  • Interviews & Commentary: Audio commentary with Joel and Ethan Coen (filmmakers) and Billy Bob Thornton (actor), interviews with Roger Deakins (cinematographer), conversation between Joel and Ethan Coen and Megan Abbott (author), essay by Laura Lippman (author)

the birthday

release: 2nd march 2026
available on 4k uhd and blu-ray

Unreleased for nearly twenty years, The Birthday has achieved near-mythic status among cult film enthusiasts. Shot on a single, meticulously designed location, Eugenio Mira’s deliriously offbeat dark comedy offers a career-best turn from Corey Feldman (The Lost Boys), playing wildly against type.
Painfully awkward Norman Forrester (Feldman) chooses the opulent birthday party of his girlfriend Alison’s (Erica Prior) wealthy father (Jack Taylor, Conan the Barbarian) as the perfect moment to propose. But between bizarre encounters with guests and unnervingly polite hotel staff, Norman stumbles into a nightmarish occult conspiracy that threatens not just his relationship but the fate of the world itself.
Rediscovered at last, The Birthday blends screwball comedy, cosmic horror and feverish style into an unforgettable cinematic experience. Restored from the original negative, Arrow Video is proud to present this one-of-a-kind descent into madness in the release it’s always deserved.

3:10 to yuma

release: 9th march 2026
available on 4k uhd

In this beautifully shot, psychologically complex western, Van Heflin is a mild-mannered cattle rancher who takes on the task of shepherding a captured outlaw (played with cucumber-cool charisma by Glenn Ford) to the train that will deliver him to prison. This apparently simple mission turns into a nerve-racking cat-and-mouse game that tests each man’s particular brand of honor. Based on a story by Elmore Leonard, 3:10 to Yuma is a thrilling, humane action movie, directed by the supremely talented studio filmmaker Delmer Daves with intense feeling and precision.

Interviews & Commentary: Interviews with Elmore Leonard (author) and Peter Ford (Glenn Ford’s son/biographer), essay by Kent Jones (critic)
Packaging & Collectibles: Cover by Gregory Manchess

shango

Spaghetti Westerns don’t come any hotter than Shango (Shango, La Pistola Infallibile), a wild ride into a time where questions were answered through gritted teeth or worse still, with bullets. Directed by Edoardo Mulargia who co-wrote the intense script with headline star Anthony Steffen, we follow Shango, a Texas Ranger who finds himself face-to-face with a Confederate officer and his gang of violent thugs who are busy terrorizing the locals of a town in their savage hunt for gold. Violent and raw, Shango is packed with hardened characters, all battling for survival in the torturous heat of an unforgiving land whilst reflecting that, for some, war is never truly over and that they will always find something to fight for.

the dancing hawk

A peasant’s son rises through the ranks of post-war Polish society like none of his ancestors ever could. Moving to the city, he becomes part of a new socialist order. But in leaving his rural roots behind, does he also abandon his soul? Taking inspiration from Orson Welles’ monumental saga Citizen Kane, Grzegorz Królikiewicz (Through and Through) crafts a viscerally affecting portrait of a changing country through the fate of a man ruined by ambition. Strikingly original compositions from cinematographer Zbigniew Rybczynski (Angst) and absorbing sound design capture the psychic toll of capitalism and urbanization.
