Big Thief

Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You

Released: 11th February 2022
Label: 4AD
Genre:  Folk Rock

On their 5th album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, New York-based quartet Big Thief really push the boat out – creating a stunning and eclectic 20-track double album full to the brim with beautiful Americana sounds, layered nicely with smart and thoughtful lyricism, penned by singer/guitarist Adrianne Lenker.
Released on the iconic 4AD record label, which has housed acclaimed artists such as The National, Dry Cleaning and Aldous Harding to name just three, this record is a fine addition to their ever-expanding back catalogue and sits nicely alongside the group’s previous 2019 works U.F.O.F. and Two Hands.
Songs like Spud Infinity, Promise is a Pendulum and Dried Roses showcase the group’s classic indie folk sound that fans everywhere know and love, but they also don’t shy away from branching out their sound – with genres like Lo-Fi (Wake Me Up to Drive) and loose, Garage-like Indie (Flower of Blood), they experiment across a wide array of music flawlessly.
And if this 80-minute epic proves anything to you, it should be that Big Thief are a force to be reckoned with and they simply cannot be stopped.
